Mother Maker Studios is so delighted to have held our first collaborative exhibition in SETU studios. We had a really wonderful turn out, sold original paintings, and got to connect with other Mother Makers in our community that we look forward to collaborating with moving forward!
Erin spoke with Fiona of Rambling with Fee on Loughrea Community Radio, filling in on what we do, and what are goals are for the future – we want a space!
Mother Maker Studios is looking for a space that is central and easy for people to come join us. While we are used to gathering around kitchen tables, we’d really love to expand and have a little sweet spot in Loughrea – a space where we can host an exhibition, a shop front, and a studio space to create and run workshops for skill sharing.
Deadlines approaching, some of us managed to apply for Agility Awards with The Arts Council, but Covid brain held us back from getting in our joint application for Mother Maker Studios submitted. We have some dreams of bringing an art walk to the streets of Loughrea – filling shop windows with unique makes, supporting local talent, and bringing some vibrancy and life into derelict spaces.
We are currently seeking our next venue to host a collaborative exhibition this summer, with more Mother Makers taking up space!
